SECTION 1 — GENERAL PRINCIPLES

Article 1 — Definition of Hybrid Unifight

Hybrid Unifight is a full‑contact mixed‑combat sport sanctioned by the World Unifight Federation (WUF). It combines:

  • Striking
  • Grappling
  • Submissions
  • Clinch fighting
  • Ground fighting

It follows the Unified Rules of Mixed Martial Arts, adapted to WUF standards.

Hybrid Unifight is not MMA — it is WUF’s official mixed‑combat discipline.

Article 2 — Competition Divisions

Hybrid Unifight includes:

  • Professional Division
  • Amateur Division
  • Youth Division (modified rules)
  • Women’s Division

Article 3 — Match Area

Matches take place in:

  • A WUF‑approved cage (preferred)
  • A WUF‑approved ring (optional for amateur)

Article 4 — Men’s Weight Categories

  • Atomweight: -48 kg
  • Strawweight: -52 kg
  • Flyweight: -57 kg
  • Bantamweight: -61 kg
  • Featherweight: -66 kg
  • Lightweight: -70 kg
  • Welterweight: -77 kg
  • Middleweight: -84 kg
  • Light Heavyweight: -93 kg
  • Heavyweight: -120 kg
  • Super Heavyweight: +120 kg

Article 5 — Women’s Weight Categories

  • Atomweight: -48 kg
  • Strawweight: -52 kg
  • Flyweight: -57 kg
  • Bantamweight: -61 kg
  • Featherweight: -66 kg
  • Lightweight: -70 kg

SECTION 3 — MATCH DURATION

Article 6 — Professional Division

  • 3 rounds × 5 minutes
  • 5 rounds × 5 minutes (title fights)
  • 1 minute rest between rounds

Article 7 — Amateur Division

  • 3 rounds × 3 minutes
  • 1 minute rest

Article 8 — Youth Division

  • 3 rounds × 2 minutes
  • Modified rules for safety

SECTION 5 — ILLEGAL TECHNIQUES

Article 12 — Fouls

The following are illegal:

  • Headbutts
  • Eye gouging
  • Biting
  • Hair pulling
  • Groin attacks
  • Small joint manipulation
  • 12–6 elbows
  • Strikes to spine or back of head
  • Kicks or knees to head of grounded opponent
  • Spiking (pile‑driving)
  • Throwing opponent out of cage/ring
  • Grabbing cage
  • Holding opponent’s gloves or shorts
  • Striking after referee stoppage

SECTION 6 — GROUND RULES

Article 13 — Definition of Grounded Opponent

An athlete is grounded if:

  • Any body part other than feet touches the floor
  • Knee, hand, or hip is down

Article 14 — Ground Striking Rules

Professional

  • Punches to head allowed
  • Knees to body allowed
  • No knees to head
  • No kicks to head

Amateur

  • Punches to head allowed
  • No elbows
  • No knees to head
  • No kicks to head

SECTION 7 — SCORING SYSTEM

Article 15 — 10‑Point Must System

Judges score each round:

  • Winner: 10 points
  • Loser: 9 or fewer

Article 16 — Scoring Criteria (in order of priority)

  1. Effective Striking & Grappling
  2. Effective Aggression
  3. Control & Dominance

Damage is the highest scoring factor.

Article 17 — Round Types

  • 10–9: Close round
  • 10–8: Dominant round
  • 10–7: Overwhelming dominance

SECTION 8 — VICTORY CONDITIONS

Article 18 — Knockout (KO)

KO occurs when:

  • Athlete loses consciousness
  • Athlete cannot stand

Article 19 — Technical Knockout (TKO)

TKO occurs when:

  • Athlete cannot defend
  • Athlete turns away
  • Athlete verbally submits
  • Referee stops fight
  • Doctor stops fight
  • Corner throws towel

Article 20 — Submission

Submission occurs when:

  • Athlete taps physically
  • Athlete taps verbally
  • Athlete loses consciousness

Article 21 — Decision Types

  • Unanimous decision
  • Split decision
  • Majority decision
  • Draw

Article 22 — Disqualification

Reasons:

  • Illegal strikes
  • Repeated fouls
  • Unsportsmanlike conduct

SECTION 9 — EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS

Article 23 — Professional Equipment

  • 4–6 oz gloves
  • Mouthguard
  • Groin protector
  • Shorts
  • Hand wraps

Article 24 — Amateur Equipment

  • 6–8 oz gloves
  • Shin guards
  • No elbows
  • No knees to head
  • Optional headgear (youth mandatory)

SECTION 10 — REFEREE PROCEDURES

Article 25 — Referee Commands

  • “Fight!”
  • “Stop!”
  • “Break!”
  • “Stand up!”
  • “Time!”

Article 26 — Referee Responsibilities

  • Protect athletes
  • Enforce rules
  • Stop fight when necessary
  • Control clinch and ground engagement
  • Issue warnings and penalties

SECTION 11 — FOUL PROCEDURES

Article 27 — Foul Handling

Referee may:

  • Issue warning
  • Deduct points
  • Stop fight for recovery
  • Disqualify athlete

Article 28 — Accidental Fouls

If accidental foul occurs:

  • Before half of fight: No contest
  • After half of fight: Go to scorecards

SECTION 12 — MEDICAL & SAFETY RULES

Article 29 — Mandatory Medical Checks

  • Pre‑fight medical
  • Post‑fight medical
  • KO/TKO suspensions

Article 30 — Medical Suspensions

  • 30 days — minor injury
  • 60 days — TKO
  • 90 days — KO
  • 180 days — severe injury
